Maintenance

The regular stuff,
done at your place

Oil, filters, plugs, fluids, A/C and the mileage services your manual calls for. The things that keep a vehicle out of trouble and hold its value — quoted before we come.

Maintenance services

Pick what the
vehicle needs

Each service on its own or several together. If there is more than one thing on the list, we bring the parts for all of it so the truck only comes out once.

Oil & filter change

We use oil that meets your engine’s specification — conventional, blend or full synthetic as the manufacturer calls for — and a quality filter. While the oil drains we check the belts, hoses, fluids, tires and anything that is dripping, and tell you what we saw. Done in the driveway, at work or at the yard.

Quoted up front

Tune-up

A rough idle, hesitation or worse fuel mileage often comes down to worn plugs or a tired coil. We replace spark plugs, coils and plug wires where fitted, the engine air filter and the cabin filter, and read the vehicle’s codes to make sure the tune-up actually fixes what you are feeling.

Fluid services

Fluids wear out quietly. Coolant loses its corrosion protection, brake fluid soaks up water, transmission fluid breaks down and shifts get lazy. We drain and refill or exchange coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and transmission fluid on most vehicles, using the type the manufacturer specifies.

Quoted up front

Pre-purchase inspection

Buying a used car or truck from a private seller or a small lot? We come to where the vehicle is, scan it for codes, check the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, tires, frame and fluids, and give you a plain-English rundown of what it needs now, what it will need soon and what to negotiate on.

Quoted up front

A/C check & repair

An A/C system that blows warm has usually lost refrigerant somewhere. We check the system pressures, look for the leak, and repair what is leaking before recharging — topping off a leaking system just means paying for it twice. Compressor, condenser and line work is quoted after we have seen it.

Quoted up front

Scheduled maintenance

Every manufacturer publishes a service schedule, and following it is the cheapest way to keep a vehicle out of trouble. We do the mileage services — filters, fluids, plugs, belts, inspections — on your schedule and in your driveway, and note what was done so you have the record if you ever sell it.

How we work

No bill without
a conversation

We look the vehicle over, tell you what we found and agree what gets done now. Only then do we start. If something turns up partway through, we stop and ask — we do not add work to the invoice without talking to you.

That is the whole reason people call back: you know what the bill is before it is written.

  • A quote before the work starts
  • We call if something unexpected turns up
  • A quick look at brakes, belts and fluids on every visit

FAQ

Questions about
maintenance

Can't find the answer? Call or text (785) 000-0000 and we'll sort it out on the phone.

Do I need to supply the oil and filter?
No. We bring oil that meets your engine’s specification and a quality filter. If you have already bought parts, mention it when you book — we will tell you whether we can use them.
Will having you do the maintenance affect my warranty?
No. Maintenance done to the manufacturer’s schedule with parts that meet its specification keeps the warranty intact, no matter who does it. We note what was done so you have the record.
How long does an oil change take at my house?
Usually under an hour, including a look over the belts, hoses, tires and fluids while the oil drains. Tune-ups and fluid services take longer depending on the vehicle, and we will tell you when we quote it.
Can you do several things in one visit?
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to do it. Tell us everything that is due or bothering you and we bring the parts for all of it — one trip, one quote.
